Christian Lacroix

Christian Lacroix’s couture show for fall is very possibly his last fashion show of all time, as the designer admits he will probably be forced to shutter his 22 year old famous French fashion house due to money issues next month. However, he still might be able to woo new investors – but there’s no deal pending at this point. Lacroix’s friends and supporters actually put in their own money to even make this show happen, and the embroiderers worked for free. Only the models were paid. The show was an effort to get new backers, and a relaunch of the line would take about 70 million dollars to pull off. Even these clothes may never be produced, unless some very wealthy ladies order them – fast.
