Spring Floral Scents

It’s that time of year again for Spring fragrances, even if it hasn’t felt quite as much like spring at this point. There's nothing like spritzing on a fresh new scent to usher in the warm, sunny days of Spring. Here are some of our favorites.

The bottle is so chic, it almost wouldn't matter if its contents smelled like vinegar. It's soft with a crisp, cool violet aroma but not powdery; and not sharp.
Balenciaga Paris $95, 1.7 ounces.

Beyoncé Knowles inspired by her mother, Tina Knowles' cooking, the fragrance of her debut fragrance Beyonce Heat is a woody, floral concoction of magnolia, neroli, red vanilla orchid, crème de musk, tonka bead and amber. "My mother's Creole so she cooks with a lot of spices -- her candied yams are so delicious!," said Knowles. "When I walk in the room I can smell the sweetness, but I can also smell the spice. So I wanted a mixture of something that is fiery, sensual but also very feminine."
Beyoncé Heat is $49 1.7 ounces.

Sarah Jessica Parker didn't have to look too far for the inspiration behind her newest fragrance. The uber stylish "Sex and the City" star chose her equally fashionable counterpart, Carrie Bradshaw, as the muse for "SJP NYC," her new perfume which launched in February 2010. Notes include mandarin, white osmanthus, strawberry, gardenia, honeysuckle, mimosa, rose, sandalwood, vanilla absolute, rum flavor and creamy musks and was developed by Parker in collaboration with perfumer Honorine Blanc.
JSP-NYC is $49 2 ounces.

Modern and ultra-flirty: Mango and apple blossoms add a juicy-ripe fruit layer to a charming, airy blend.
Ed Hardy Hearts and Daggers $55 1.7 ounces.

Chloé Eau de Fleur Capucine is a refreshing citrus blend of bergamot, lemon and neroli, with layered with green notes of sage, rose, jasmine and lily before settling into a musk.
Chloé Eau de Fleurs are $135 each 1.7 ounces, exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue and Chloé boutiques.
Bonus tip: How to make fragrance last without asphyxiating everyone on the elevator. Spray perfume on the back of your wrists, knees & neck. And never rub, because rubbing crushes the molecules of the fragrance & ruins the scent. Some beauty editors only spritz the inner elbows & behind the knees. Why? The fragrance stays a little moist & fragrance works best just a little bit humid. Also you may spray cologne and walk thru the mist...Lightly layers your fragrance.
