Pearls of Wisdom

Pearls are unique among gemstones, being the only ones found within a living creature and the only ones that requires no fashioning, (cutting or polishing,) before use.
The value of pearls is determined by its, size, shape, color, luster, and surface quality.
Exclusively worn by women, although some efforts have been made to market pearl jewelry to males in recent years, pearls remain the most "feminine" of all gemstones. Although pearls are delicate, they have been successfully used in jewelry for thousands of years. Pearl jewelry will definitely add elegance and sophistication with its simplicity to any outfit.
Caring for your pearls:
Store your Pearl jewelry in a soft jewelry bag to protect it from scratches and damage.
Hairspray, perfumes, and cosmetics can disintegrate the pearl's surface, so should always put these on before your jewelry.
Avoid commercial jewelry cleaners and ultrasonic cleaners on pearls unless specifically recommended.
Gently rub pearls with a soft cloth to remove caked-on dirt, body oils, and perspiration which are harmful to a pearl's surface and color. Cloth may be dampened if necessary.
As a helpful hint, remember, "pearls should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off!"
