New study: feel insecure? You must love accessories! Huh? Apparently, new research from the University of Canterbury has concluded that women who are insecure about their appearance tend to gravitate toward accessories as a way to draw attention away from their bodies. The study concludes, “What the research suggests is that shoes and handbags are more appealing to insecure women because they increase physical attractiveness without drawing attention to one’s figure. And further, “those who are insecure… like buying shoes to affirm their attractiveness.” We can’t really argue for or against this conclusion, after all, we’re all for buying accessories whatever your reasoning. The only thing we wonder is how much money was spent to fund the study?? They could have put it toward a gorgeous purse or necklace instead!

Wow. What an eye-opener. And not such good news for me, as I own well over 100 pairs of shoes and make and sell my own jewelry! Still, it's a better defense mechanism than ice cream and chocolate bars, no? Thanks for sharing :)
