Like,Want and Collect

Facebook last week announced that they now have over one billion users....what potential for a mega shopping site. Well now Facebook is going to add new buttons to its social media site. "Like" which we all know, and now comes "Want" and "Collect".
A “small test in which a few select businesses will be able to share information about their products through a feature called Collections.” Involved in the trial are Pottery Barn, Wayfair, Victoria’s Secret, Michael Kors, Neiman Marcus, Smith Optics, and, FB said. The “Want” button allows users to add a retailer’s merchandise to their “Wishlist.” The “Collect” button takes a user’s wants even further. For instance, if Neiman Marcus posts a new Collection of handbags on its Facebook page, instead of just liking it, a user can click a “Collect” button that appears on the handbag’s photo. By clicking that “Collect” button, the user adds the handbag her personal “Collection” which will then get posted to the user’s timeline so all her friends can see it. There also will be a “Buy” link for each product in a Collection that links to an offsite place to buy it.
However, we think the social network is slowing becoming a shopping network.
